Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 2025 · Snapy, North Vancouver, BC, Canada
Snapy operates the website snapy.pro and provides software services to local retail stores. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA).
1. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to two groups:
- Store operators — businesses and individuals who use Snapy to manage and publish their inventory.
- Shoppers — people who browse store pages on snapy.pro.
2. Information we collect
From store operators:
- Business name, email address, and store details provided during onboarding.
- Product information: titles, descriptions, prices, photos, and condition grades that operators enter into the system.
- Third-party marketplace credentials (e.g. eBay OAuth tokens) used solely to publish listings on the operator's behalf. These are stored encrypted and never used for any other purpose.
- Basic account activity logs (login timestamps, API calls) for security and debugging.
From shoppers:
- Standard web server logs: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. These are retained for up to 90 days.
- We do not use advertising cookies. We do not run analytics that track you across sites. We do not drop any third-party tracking pixels.
3. How we use your information
- To display store inventory on snapy.pro and on connected marketplaces (Google Shopping, eBay).
- To send transactional emails to store operators (account alerts, sync errors). We do not send marketing email without explicit consent.
- To diagnose technical problems and maintain the security of the platform.
- To comply with legal obligations, including eBay's account deletion notification requirements.
4. Information we do not sell or share
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to any third party. We share data with third parties only in these narrow circumstances:
- Marketplace platforms (eBay, Google) — product listing data is transmitted to these platforms on the store operator's instruction. Each platform's own privacy policy governs their use of that data.
- Google Gemini AI — product titles, descriptions, and images are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate listing content and infer shipping dimensions. No personal information about shoppers is sent.
- Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users or the public.
5. Data storage and security
All data is stored on servers located in Canada (DigitalOcean Toronto region). We use encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit. OAuth tokens and secrets are stored encrypted at rest. We do not store payment card information — payments, if any, are handled by third-party processors.
6. Retention
Store operator account data is retained for the duration of the business relationship and for up to 12 months after account closure. Web server logs are retained for up to 90 days. Product listing data is deleted when a store operator requests account deletion.
7. Your rights
Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Withdraw consent for non-essential data processing at any time.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@snapy.pro. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Third-party links
Store pages may link to external websites (e.g. a store's own website or Google Maps). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of snapy.pro after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
